· Expected impact · The NANOMED project proposes a research and development topic in a top area in chemical physics and surface science, referring to the formation of polyfunctional supramolecular biosystems, composed from proteins and polysaccharides, in the absence or in the presence of anticancer compounds, anesthetics, or antioxidants, and of gold or silver nanoparticles, and the investigation of molecular interactions within these systems by means of advanced appropriate techniques. · The knowledge and understanding of the phenomena of homo- and heteromolecular or colloidal self association, both in aqueous solutions and in oriented structures at interfaces present an outstanding interest. · This kind of investigations, having an inter-, trans- and multi-disciplinary character represents one of the important research directions in a field of the formation of ordered nanostructured systems by molecular recognition.
