Production of highvalue biobased products from sugar cane bioethanol industry solid and liquid wastes by low energy electrochemical treatment of
effluents and pyrolysis of lignocellulosic materials using thermomagnetic catalysts
We have proposed some interesting results within this project:
As a result, the team expects to improve the knowledge of the properties, quantities, and chemical composition of the wastes generated in the industry,
which will serve as input for the development of a process to treat them and valorize them.
As a result, it is expected to develop the conceptual design of a self-sufficient, economically, socially and environmentally sustainable, industrial
scale modular process, where the bioethanol industry effluents and solid wastes are preprocessed, then converted to valuable intermediate or final biochemical
products through an improved pyrolysis process, and the residual gas and char are used to generate heat and power for the entire system.
Several innovations (for each subsystem and the entire process as a whole) are expected, and they will be analyzed for either patentability or trade secret status.
The conceptual design is expected to be used as a basis for a future pilot plant. It is expected that this process can be further adapted to process other agro industrial
wastes and effluents in the future
