Project objectives

        The project main objective is to develop the research capabilities of the Chemical engineering department, the Computer aided chemical engineering research center and the Doctoral school of chemical engineering from Babes-Bolyai University in the field of innovative renewable-based carbon capture and utilization technologies to be further implemented in energy-intensive large-scale industrial applications (e.g. heat and power, cement, metallurgy, direct air CO2 capture etc.). The aim is to encourage and support people belonging to the three above-mentioned units to participate in various national and international scientific events, summer schools, trainings, workshops, exchanges of experience etc. Furthermore, the detailed techno-economic and environmental evaluations of these renewable-based CCUS technologies are targeted for the development of sustainable solutions for industrial development. In this respect, the following original and innovative objectives are considered:

- Participation to various scientific events, networking etc.;

- Preparing, submiting and disseminatig the research activity devoted to the Carbon Capture, Utilization and Storage (CCUS) technologies integrated into industrial processes;

- Applying for national and international call of projects within the CCUS topic;

- Enlarging and consolidating the research and administrative capabilities to conduct high-level research.
