OBJECTIVES
- Development of a laboratory infrastructure for the synthesis, analysis and testing of nanostructures for nanomaterials with advanced properties.
- Synthesis of fullerenes (Synthesis of “bowl-shaped” precursors by wet chemistry methods; Syntesis of non-classical fullerenes by laser ablation of the precursors; Functionalized fullerenes and/or precursors, by wet chemistry methods).
- Syntesis of nanotubes and junctions (Syntheses of nanotubes by laser ablation; Synthesis of double walled nanotubes DWNT, by coalescence of fullerenes and “nano-peapods”; Nano-junctions, prin electron-beam irradiation of the single-walled nanotubes SWNT; Oriented nanotube networks; Nanocones).
- Synthesis of spongy-carbon.
