ISI group
We are a group of young researchers working at the Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, in the field of Computational and Organometallic Chemistry. The group was formed in 1997 by professor Ioan Silaghi-Dumitrescu, the first computational chemist at the Babes-Bolyai University, and one of the first in Romania. Since then, due to his vast interest in all fields of chemistry, we became concerned with several research topics, which include heteroallenic derivatives of heavy main group elements, coordination chemistry, functionalized calixarenes as host molecules and group 14 chemistry. Several collaborations are now in progress with universities from France, Hungary, China, and USA.
The group is almost exclusively using the computational resources of the Center for Molecular Modelling and Computational Quantum Chemistry, at the Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering.
