SUMMARY

The aim of this project is to expand the collaboration of the teams involved in the project as well as the the development of the research in the field of metalylene chemistry and their catalytic activity, in homogeneous enantioselective catalysis. This will be realized by designing novel pincer type ligands that contain different functional groups that carry chiral information. The main part of the project consists in the design, synthesis, and characterization of these pincer type ligands, followed by their use for obtaining stable metallylenes. The evaluation of the coordination ability of the new metalylenes systems are planned in order to obtaining hybrid p/d metal coordinative derivatives, followed by investigating the catalytic activity of the novel species.

The objective of this project is to consolidate the bilateral Romanian-French scientific collaboration in the field of pincer ligand chemistry and their applications. It aims to develop joint research on the design, synthesis, and structural characterization of a series of pincer ligands bearing various functional groups, subsequently used for the isolation and stabilization of metallylenes and d-block metal complexes, followed by the evaluation of the catalytic applicability of the synthesized compounds. All these research activities will be carried out by using the existing infrastructure of the two partner laboratories, and the primary goal of the project being to facilitate the bilateral mobilities required to implement this research topic.
