SUMMARY
The design of new catalytic systems is a constant interest both in research and industry. Among the various types of compounds used as catalysts, chelating- and pincer-ligand stabilized compounds are of particular significance, thanks to the fact that through the modifications of the ligand structure the reactivity of the catalyst can be modulated.
The present project plans to explore the topic of non-symmetric aryl pincer type ligand stabilized group 14 element (Si, Ge, Sn) containing compounds. Chiral compounds are planned to be obtained and evaluated for their role as catalyst for the transformation of biomass derived chemicals.
