PROJECT SUMMARY

The aim of the project is to model, synthesize, characterize and exploit the potential of nanostructure complexes in active transport of the chemical and biological compounds at cell living tissue. In this respect, the first part will be a comprehensive study, including molecular modeling and drug design, on the nanostructure-dendrimer complexes in order to obtain stable nanostructure, used as drug carriers. The second part of the project refers to the synthesis and physico-chemical characterization of the most appropriate nanostructures as well as toxicity testing and their ability to penetrate the cell wall.

The study tries to find the best dimensions of dendrimers and the coupling methods between dendrimers and nanostructures in view to obtain stable and low toxicity nanostructures.

Results of the project will include design, synthesis methods and physico-chemical and biological characteristics of novel nanostructure-dendrimer complexes. The major benefit will be the finding of new nanostructures useful in drug delivery ti the biological target.
