The conference is hosted by the Chemistry Student’s Organization in partnership with the Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering within Babeș-Bolyai University of Cluj-Napoca and the local branch of the Romanian Chemical Society.
The XIXth edition (hybrid format) will take place between the 26th and 30th of April 2023 in Cluj Napoca, Romania.

About ICSFS 2023

The International Conference ”Students for Students” is an event created by the Chemistry Student’s Organization with the purpose of gathering together undergraduate and master’s students from all over the world in order to offer them a chance to present their work, develop their communication skills and exchange ideas with other young researchers. Students from any field of work are welcome as long as their research project is related to the field of Chemistry.
The official language of the conference is English, consequently, all presentations will be held in English.
The hybrid conference is divided into three sections: Chemistry, Chemical Engineering and STEM with applications in chemistry and chemical engineering. The participants can choose to present their work as an oral presentation or as a poster for any of the above mentioned sections.
Romanian students can only participate on-site, at the Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering in Cluj-Napoca. International students can participate on-site or on-line.
For on-site participation, accommodation and daily meals are provided by the organizers.
The organizing committee is keen on offering the participants a complete scientific and cultural experience by carefully blending academic, social and cultural activities. The participants will have the chance not only to meet fellow young chemists from many global universities but also to learn from more experienced researchers.

Who are we?

The Chemistry Student’s Organization is a non-governmental organization with a rich activity background, being founded in 1991 by a group of ambitious students from the Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering within Babeș-Bolyai University of Cluj-Napoca. The organization was founded to uphold and promote the interests of students from the faculty, its activities reaching out from scientific, cultural or social domains all the way to the professional evolution of the students.
Over the years the organization has continuously extended its activities. At this time OSC is upholding annually over 8 projects. A landmark in the history of our development is the creation of the International Conference „Students for Students” which had its first edition in the year 2003. At that time it started as an internal project addressed only to the students of our faculty, but over the years it evolved, reaching the status of an international conference with participants from all across the world.
As volunteering is the form of activity, the driving force for the involvement of the members is their own desire to improve the quality of experiences for both themselves and for fellow students and future generations. The organization upholds these ideas and promotes activities which intend to bring students to the foreground of university life.
