Chemists Student
Organization is a NGO that organizes and fulfills its free and independent
action and program management. Participation at our projects is
voluntarily, each participant taking the knowledge requirements set by the
organizers.
Between February 1st
and March 28th 2010 students who wish to attend the scientific
session will be able to register by sending contact details and summaries
at studforstud@yahoo.com or
osc@chem.ubbcluj.ro. Information necessary to draft summaries is found at
the bottom of this page.
GENERAL
DATA FOR GOOD ORGANIZATION OF THE PROJECT
SELECTION CRITERIA:
The Conference has 3
sections: Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Posters. Each contestant has the
right to choose his/her method of presentation: Power Point presentation or
poster. If the paper submitted has no consistency to the Power Point section,
the organizers reserve the right to recommend the Posters section.
The
next criteria will be originality, level and quality of work, theme
importance, documentation, methods of analysis used, own contribution.
The
year of study is not a determining criterion. The
Conference targets students studying for a Bachelor and Master’s Degree!
The Registration deadline is March 28th, 2010.
Registration is completed by sending the contact data and abstract at studforstud@yahoo.com or
osc@chem.ubbcluj.ro. Confirmation of participation will be made by April 5th,
2010, by paying the participation fee towards the Chemists Student
Organization:

The
participation fee is 35 euro / participant and includes accommodation for
3 nights in 5 person/room dormitories (April 22nd-23rd,
23rd-24th, 24th-25th 2010), protocol, cost of
organizing. Payment will be made in RON, at the exchange value of the day
of deposit. After arrival of the participants, they will present the
voucher and the payment order. Accompanying teachers pay no fee!
ABSTRACT REQUIREMENTS
Abstracts must be written
English and must not exceed 2 A5 pages. They will be published in an
abstract which will be
given to each participant. The exact format of the abstract can download at
the bottom of this page.
All abstracts
must comply with the format required. Abstracts which fail to meet the
requirements will not be considered.
We do not accept
more than 2 participants / paper!
Requirements for the
Abstract
Content requirements
The word limit for an abstract is 350 words.
Abstracts exceeding this limit will not be accepted.
The title of the abstract should be no more than
20 words and written in sentence case (i.e. with a single capital letter at
the beginning of the title).
Authors and
affiliations should
be presented as following: surname first, followed by initials in capitals;
authors separated by a comma (but do not place commas or full stops between
each author’s surname and initials, or between initials) e.g. Canning CG,
Shepherd RB, Carr JH. Where there is more than one author and more than one
affiliation, use superscript numbers after the author’s initial to indicate
affiliations. The name of the presenting author should be highlighted in
bold.
Style
requirements
Abstracts must be
submitted in .doc format.
The page size is 2xA5
(14.8 cm x 21 cm). The abstract should not exceed these two A5 pages
(including figures, tables and references).
Font and point size: Times New Roman, 14 point for title
(bold, single capital letter at the beginning of the title); 12 point for
the autors (italics), 12 point for the remainder of text (regular), 10
point for references (italics).
The spacing should be single throughout the abstract
text. Leave a line after the title and one more after affiliations.
Layout: The text should be unjustified and
aligned to the left.
Tables, references
and figures: Tables,
diagrams, references, graphs and figures are accepted within or at the end
of the abstract.
Lists: Do not use bullet-pointed or numbered
lists within the abstract.
