Babes-Bolyai University is located in the city of Cluj-Napoca which is the biggest city in Transylvania and one of the most important from Romania. The city lies in the north-western part of Romania, at the intersection of three representative natural units: the Apuseni Mountains, the Somesan Plateau and the Transylvanian Plain, at the same latitude as Geneve (Switzerland) and Lyon (France), and at 330-430 m altitude.
The university is the oldest and the second large institution of higher education in Romania. At the present our University has more than 40000 students, out of whom 600 are foreign students, and a staff of about 1500 teachers. |
