Research topics

Our past and current research has been focused on several enzyme classes such as lipases, esterases, oxidoreductases, aromatic ammonia-lyases and aminomutases, ω-transaminases, carboxylic acid decarboxylases.

The research activity at the Enzymology and Applied Biocatalysis Research Center is aimed at:

▶ NEW! Antibiotic development by targeting bacterial enzymes

The structural facets and modulation/inhibition of the essential bacterial enzymes, and enzyme involving-PPIs, involved in the assembly of bacterial cell envelope: the YejM-LapB-FtsH-LpxC protein network and the DprE1-DprE2 protein complex are among our studied targets.
