The main research topics the organometallic chemistry group of SOOMCC focuses on are:
- Design of organic compounds, potential precursors for ligands able to provide intramolecular coordination in hypervalent organometallic species of main group metals, as well as their use in recognition of metal cations or organometallic fragments
- Design of supramolecular homo- and heterometallic systems - materials with special magnetic, optical and electronic properties for sensors and homogenous catalysis
- Design of organometallic compounds of main group metals with potential applications, i.e. storage and transfer of CO2 to organic substrates, ligands in transition metal coordination chemistry
- Design of supramolecular organometallic systems based on cation-anion interactions, with increased water solubility, and their screening for biological activity
