Preparation and Characterization of Visible Light Activated Photocatalysts for Water and Air Decontamination
  
   
   1.Preparation of highly efficient TiO2 based photocatalysts, both metal/nonmetal ion doped and 
   undoped, for different substrates, by sol-gel method and flame-hydrolytic synthesis methods;

   2.Morpho-structural characterization of the obtained photocatalysts by different techniques such
   as XRD, BET, TG-DTG-DTA, DRS, TEM, SEM, XPS, EXAFS/XANES;

   3.Photocatalytic properties investigation of the obtained titania based photocatalysts, in liquid 
   and phase phase, using different model organic compounds under UV-VIS and VIS irradiation;

   4.Exchange of young researchers and students, both on the under- and postgraduate level;

   5.Organization of a workshop for the research partners;

   6.Submission of research papers.
